Latest podcast - The Queen's Reading Room

News 18.09.2024

The latest podcast features English novelist, playwright and short-story writer Kate Atkinson MBE.

Kate’s first novel, ‘Behind The Scenes At The Museum’, won the Whitbread Book of the Year Award and she has been a critically acclaimed international bestselling author ever since.

Perhaps best known for being the creator of Jackson Brodie, the former soldier and policeman turned private investigator who is unable to resist coming to the rescue, Kate’s first three novels have been adapted for the BBC TV drama ‘Case Histories’ starring Jason Isaacs.

And twenty years after it began, Kate has returned this year with the series’ sixth installment ‘Death At The Sign Of The Rook’, a country house whodunit akin to an Agatha Christie-esque murder mystery.

Tune in to this week’s episode as Kate tells us about her childhood memories of reading and the book she learnt to read with.

And if you haven't been tuning into season 3, catch up on all available episodes here.
