The Black British Book Festival is Europe's largest. It was created to celebrate new and emerging Black British Authors across all genres. The Festival was founded by Selina Brown.
In 2021 the first UK Black British Book Festival was held. Despite the pandemic restrictions, the event was a great success, attracting over 600 attendees from near and far. The organisers built upon this success for 2022, attracting over 1,300 people. The Black British Book Festival aims to support Black writers at all stages in their careers, connecting them with opportunities and helping them to help themselves.
